Quick answer: HiveCard stores all financial data locally on your device. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes it. A small amount of non-financial data exists outside your device — subscription status on HiveCard's servers, an anonymous advertising identifier used to measure ad campaigns, and Gmail authorization with Google if you opted in. This page covers how to clear all of it.
How HiveCard handles your data
HiveCard is an offline-first credit card tracker. Every piece of financial information you enter — card details, statements, transactions, income, settings — is stored only on your device, in an encrypted database (SQLCipher AES-256). Your card data is never uploaded to any server.
The app does contact remote infrastructure for non-financial purposes: fetching parser configuration updates, validating Premium subscription status, and (if you opt in) accessing Gmail to import bank statement emails. These are described in the sections below. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Your financial data is fully under your control and deletes locally. External records are minimal and non-personal.
How to delete your data
1
Uninstall the HiveCard app
On your Android device, long-press the HiveCard icon and select Uninstall, or go to Settings → Apps → HiveCard → Uninstall. This permanently and immediately removes all HiveCard data from your device.
2
Delete individual entries within the app (optional)
If you want to keep using HiveCard but remove specific data:
To delete a card: open the card, tap the overflow menu, then Delete card
To delete a transaction: long-press the transaction row, then tap Delete
To delete your account and all app data: go to Profile → Account → Delete account
To clear all data without uninstalling: Settings → Apps → HiveCard → Storage → Clear data
3
Revoke Gmail access (if connected)
If you connected Gmail for automatic statement import, revoke access within the app: go to Profile → Gmail → Disconnect. This removes the stored authorization token and all Gmail metadata from your device. You can also revoke HiveCard's Gmail access directly from your Google Account permissions page.
What gets deleted
When you uninstall HiveCard or clear its app data, the following is permanently erased from your device:
All credit cards, statements, and transactions
All payment records and reminders
Income sources and budgeting preferences
Your PIN (if set) and notification settings
Any imported PDF statements that were processed
The encrypted database file itself
Gmail authorization token and all Gmail email metadata (if Gmail was connected)
Because no financial copy exists on a server, deletion is final. We cannot recover your data once removed, even if you reinstall the app.
What HiveCard does not store remotely
For full transparency, here is what no server holds:
Your name, email, phone number, or any account credentials (no user accounts exist)
Your card data, statements, or transactions
Behavioral or screen-view analytics, or crash reports tied to you
Any identifier that links the advertising measurement below to your financial data
What is held externally — and how to remove it
A small amount of non-personal data exists outside your device:
Subscription status (HiveCard servers) — When you subscribe, HiveCard's receipt validation server records a Google Play purchase token and your subscription expiry date. This contains no financial details or personal identifiers. It expires automatically when your subscription ends and is not linked to any account.
Advertising measurement (AppsFlyer, Google, Meta) — To measure which ad led you to install HiveCard, the app shares your device's Google Advertising ID and two anonymous app-milestone signals (no financial data) with AppsFlyer, and onward to Google Ads and Meta. To limit this, reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device's Android settings under Ads (the exact location varies by device — look under Privacy or Google settings).
Gmail authorization (Google) — If you connected Gmail, Google holds an OAuth authorization record granting HiveCard read access to your inbox. Revoke it within the app (Profile → Gmail → Disconnect) or from your Google Account permissions page. Revoking removes HiveCard's access immediately.
Parser fixture emails (midybee, if you chose to share) — If you used the optional Help improve the parser feature to share a redacted layout fingerprint, that fingerprint is stored in our internal development environment. It contains no personal financial information. To request removal, email support@hivecard.ph with the subject "Parser fixture deletion request."
Data Google receives in connection with HiveCard — including Play subscription information, Gmail OAuth authorization, and the advertising identifier used for ad measurement — is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. The advertising identifier shared with Meta is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy, and data processed by AppsFlyer is governed by the AppsFlyer Services Privacy Policy.
